Dr. David Allen White uses Dante Alighieri's works to explain the problems in the postconciliar Church. In the 1921 encyclical In Praeclara Summorum Pope Benedict XV wrote "Among the many celebrated geniuses of whom the Catholic faith can boast who have left undying fruits in literature and art especially, besides other fields of learning, and to whom civilization and religion are ever in debt, highest stands the name of Dante Alighieri..." Dante saw that Hell was real, populated and the souls there have chosen to go there - for sins that are today very unfashionable to even call sin!
